Why try our wilderness honey?

How many foods do you enjoy which are totally natural, unrefined, free from pesticides and fertilizers, and are harvested from a pristine, unpolluted environment? This is what Tasmanian Wilderness Honey offers you. An outstanding gift from nature, enjoy it yourself, share it with friends.

We have sourced the only apiary that operates in the heart of Tasmania's Tarkine wilderness, the largest tract of temperate rainforest wilderness in Australia. Since 1955, Blue Hills Honey have produced a range of the finest honeys from this unique location, most notably their world renowned Leatherwood honey - an extraordinary honey produced from nectar collected by bees from ancient native Leatherwood trees. Elegantly packaged, this premium honey makes the ideal gift for connoisseurs of fine foods.

The exotic flavours and natural components of our wilderness honey are carefully retained by Blue Hills' use of a cold extraction process.  You can rest assured that you are purchasing a safe and pure product, as Blue Hills honey was the first Australian honey producer to implement a stringent industry-initiated quality assurance program in accordance with Australian and New Zealand food safety requirements. So go ahead...indulge your senses!

The Nature of Cold Extracted Pure Honey

Our cold extracted pure honey candies quickly. If the honey you receive from us has time to candy before you eat it all, don't worry, it's wonderful! Our candied honey is the consistancy of butter. The tiny, fine crystals mean you can stir it easily and you have something like creamed honey, or you can gently warm the honey by placing glass jars in an oven at a very low temperature or placing plastic tubs in hot water. This will return the honey to a liquid state.
